Position description
Non-Exempt position. Performs analyses on biological specimens, e.g. blood and urine, to aid health care providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Participates in the operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.
Qualifications
For MT-Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, or health related field. Completion of a clinical laboratory internship required. A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. Applicants with a Baccalaureate Degree in a science or health related field with completion of a clinical laboratory internship or clinical laboratory experience will be considered in the appropriate field of study (i.e. Microbiology).
For MLT- Associate's degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program or U.S. military Medical Laboratory-training program.
Additional qualifications
For MT-Applicant should possess one of the following, however ongoing maintenance is not required; appropriate HHS (Health & Human Services) or approved laboratory certification (ASCP or AMT) Medical Technologist, MT (ASCP, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, CLS (ASCP,)Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS (ASCP, Medical Technologist, MT (AMT),HEW, or equivalent certification, or registry eligible.
For MLT- Applicant should possess one of the following appropriate HHS (Health & Human Services) approved laboratory certifications: Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (ASCP), Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (AMT) Or registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete Board of Registry ASCP or AMT examination within first 6 months of employment. Initial certification is required to demonstrate competency, but ongoing maintenance is not required ongoing maintenance is not required.
License or certification
Applicant should possess one of the following appropriate HHS (Health & Human Services) approved laboratory certifications: Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (ASCP), Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (AMT) Or registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete Board of Registry ASCP or AMT examination within first 6 months of employment. Initial certification is required to demonstrate competency, but ongoing maintenance is not required ongoing maintenance is not required. Basic Life Support certification may be required within six months of hire, depending on location of hire. Limited X-Ray Machine Operator (LXMO) certification may be required depending on location of hire.

Compensation Detail
Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $19.49 per hour for MLT and $23.42 for MT

Schedule may vary to meet patient and department needs. Primarily PM hours- may be some day and night hours as well.
Weekend schedule

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
